Nate said a funny thing tonight. We did his blood glucose test and his numbers were a little low, so we needs to give him a snack. We asked him what he wanted, but he couldn't decide, so we suggested a piece of bread.
Without skipping a beat, he says, "No, it has carbs."
What a kid. He shouldn't know what "carbs" are at his age. And really, he doesn't, but it made for another one of those surreal goofy moments brought to us by this crazy, stupid disease.

If I heard a normal 3 year old say something like that I'd be very very concerned. Considering what Nate's going through it's kinda cute and kinda sad that he really does need to become so aware of such things at such a young age.
