Christmas

The Christmas holiday this year was a fun one. Scary at times due to weather, but fun. Christmas Eve we spent at my parents house for a relaxed evening of game playing and food. And, of course, the pajamas, as probably 99% of all households do. It was a lot of fun. We played a game where we wrapped a present in layers of paper and with each unwrapping, there was included instructions to do something, and then a suggestion on who to pass the present to next. Suggestions were things like sing jingle bells backwards (which Brad is doing in the picture below), or pat your head and rub your tummy and sing a song (as Scott is below). Lots of fun. Danny ended up opening it last and took the prize.









Christmas morning was a fun one with the kids. They woke up right on time, not too early, and although half of them ran straight to the bathroom when they came up, they all enjoyed seeing the stash Santa left. We then went for the traditional Christmas morning breakfast, presents, and Bionicle build at my parents house. That trip was a bit dicey due to all the snow. We'd had about 8" the day before, and the storm on Christmas day dropped at least another 12". We got stuck once on the way over, but worked our way out and eventually made it. After my parents, we went over to Angie's family's house for the remainder of the day for more food, more presents, and a nice visit.

When we came home, it was actually raining, which laid a good little ice sheet on all of the snow. The plows had come through and left about a 4' pile of ice in front of our driveway, so we couldn't pull the car in. We left the kids in the running car and Angie and I dug a hole in the pile enough to drive the Outlook through. We got it over the initial pile, but then got stuck in the driveway. Angie and I spent the rest of the evening digging the car out and getting it into the garage.

















It was a great couple of days and everyone had a lot of fun. Christmas is always such a great time of year, and it was neat to have all the snow come down this past week to make it sooooo white. I hope everyone had a great holiday of their own.
