Surprise Party

Emily is turning 13 this Sunday, which is quite a milestone for all of us. The bad thing about having a birthday so close to Christmas, though, is that it kind of gets mixed up with all the other celebrations and the birthday fanfare ends up being a side note to some family Christmas party.

So to make this one special, we planned a spur of the moment surprise birthday party for Emily. We had her grandmother pick her up to go shopping in the afternoon, and then we gathered up her aunt and some friends and headed off to a bowling alley. Then grandma had to come up with a good way to get Emily over to the bowling alley, which actually was really funny, here is a short account:



Grandma is pretty hilarious. We bowled a game then came home for cake and presents as well as some fun music.
