Seeing David Archuleta

So on sort of a whim, this past Friday afternoon, we decided to take the girls to see David Archuleta's homecoming day for American Idol. The girls were beside themselves when they found out, since they are avid fans and all want to secretly marry him (or not so secretly). We drove to Trax, took that to Murray, then walked to the High School where we watched David be presented with many silly and time consuming awards, but most importantly, we got to hear him sing. He is a very talented kid and it is so cool to see someone local doing so well on the show. He has a good solid background and has his priorities set straight, too, which is a great thing to have in an "Idol." There are so many singers that think they have to have a "sexy" or "rough" side to them, that it's hard to know what to let the girls follow. With David Archuleta, you always know you get good music with a good message from a kid who shares our values. It was a fun afternoon.



We wish David luck and hope to see him get through and win the entire competition. It would be a deserved reward for such a great kid.
